FELIPE & JANELLE SILVA Founders and Directors ~This Brazilian/Canadian couple first came to Romania in 2012 as volunteers with the New Horizons Foundation. In 2015 they opened the doors to Fără Limite in Vulcan, using their passion for climbing to encourage and support local youth. Janelle and Felipe are the proud parents of three beautiful children: Luca, Sofia, and Mila.

DAMARIS BALAN Education Program Manager ~Damaris was born and raised in Lupeni in the Jiu Valley. She studied history at university, which awoke in her a curiosity and passion for political science and international relations. She enjoys watching documentary and biographical films, reading, and staying active—especially by hiking. She joined our staff in 2020.

JENNA GRIFFIN Communications Manager ~Originally from Indiana, Jenna began her work with Fără Limite as an intern in the summer of 2016. Ionuț studies mechanical and electrical engineering at the University of Petroșani. He loves working with children and has a passion for sports.

From the beginning, Fără Limite has worked to promote literacy through a weekly reading hour. Every Saturday, one of our leaders reads a children’s book aloud to an audience of our climbers, and then we take some time to talk about the story to
